Elaine Keenan

BANGOR – M. Elaine Keenan, 49, died unexpectedly, Nov. 27, 2005, at her home in Bangor. She was born March 23, 1956, in Bangor, the daughter of John L. and M. Eileen (Brennan) Keenan. Elaine was a 1974 graduate of Brewer High School and attended Beal College. She was a dedicated employee of the Bangor Theological Seminary where she had worked for more than 25 years and had most recently served as the administrative assistant to the president. Elaine enjoyed reading, painting, camping and she enjoyed fishing with her grandson and family. She also had a newfound interest in target shooting. Surviving are her son, “baby boy,” Shawn Michael Keenan of Bangor; and daughter, “her little princess,” Morgan Lee Severance of Bangor; her grandson, Keenan Michael; two sisters, Deirdre Conlon of Florida and Dianne Dimaggio of Massachusetts; two brothers, Michael Coffey of Connecticut and Bill Coffey of California; nieces, Cheryl Briggs of Glenburn, Kimberly Mayo of Bradley and Lori Fowler of Brewer; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves her close friends, Barbara and “Happy” Peterson, Beverly and Marc Grant. She was predeceased by her parents; her baby twin sister, Mary Ellen Keenan; and a sister, Kathleen M. Fox. Friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer. A service celebrating Elaine’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the David Nelson Beach Chapel, Bangor Theological Seminary, 300 Union St., Bangor with President William C. Imes, presiding.
