DEDHAM - Alfred "Al" P. Soucie Jr., 51, died unexpectedly Jan. 31, 2008, at his home. He was born July 29, 1956, in Bangor, the son of the late Alfred and Harriette (Varney) Soucie. Al graduated from Brewer High School in 1975 and also from Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He was a welder by trade and a Merchant Marine. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting in the "forbidden forest." Al will be missed by his buddies on their daily visit to the mountain. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Diane Freeman of Dedham; one son, Ryan Soucie and his girlfriend, Leeann Giel, of Carmel; two daughters, Nicole Soucie of Bangor and Jade Freeman of Dedham; and his aunt, Edith Soucie of South Brewer. Al was a wonderful and giving father and was loved by all. A celebration of Al's life will be held beginning 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at "Al's Barn," 63 Pine Trail, Dedham.
