
Bangor - Paul passed away peacefully after a long illness with his family by his side. He was born December 27, 1955 the son of Jean Edgecomb Shaw and Lloyd R. Shaw.
He graduated from Brewer High School and went on to Husson College graduating cum laude in accounting. He was an experienced Business Consultant whose career was as a practicing certified public accountant with his primary interests being in the areas of construction and business development. In 2015 he wrote and published a book entitled "The Fleecing of America" with the focus on the national debt and it's implications on the US economy and its citizens. Teaching and writing was his passion and he taught advanced accounting evening classes at Husson University in Southern Maine for many years.
Paul is survived by his daughter Erin Shaw; his mother and step-father Franklin Hews; his sister Linda Powers and her husband Richard; his sister Laurie Fullerton and her husband Michael; his step-sister Brenda Bourdeau; and his step-brother Gregg Hews. He was predeceased by his father and his step-brother Bruce Hews. The family is grateful for the unfailing support and care from staff members at Ross Manor. We also thank Janis from Beacon Hospice for being at our side during his last days. At Paul's request there will be no services.
