Reunion Planning Meeting – 4/15/24

Once again, we had way too much fun last night at our Class of 1974 planning meeting but at least we remembered to take a picture. In attendance: Joe Hayes, Brenda Rand Murphy, Cathy Mayo Harriman, Becky Amsden, Sandy Langlais Curtis. Rhonda Moore Geaghan, Judy Benton Cluff, Larry Geaghan, Vickie Burns Deacon, Ed Curtis, Lynn Eldridge and Peter Libhart.

Becky Amsden updated us on the work she has been doing on Brewer74.com.  Classmate Mark Farley (current School Board member) connected her with the right people in the Superintendent’s office.  Our reunion date/info will be on the School Department website's events calendar and News page.  She also got a very recent aerial view of the school and athletic fields.  Check out the "Then" and "Now" pictures on the Home Page below.   While you are there, answer the Poll question Becky has created to gauge interest in setting up school tours on August 10^th.  More polls to follow.   We’ll be sending out more frequent emails – some asking you to fill out new, sometimes silly, questions on your profile.  

Becky has added a Donation icon on the Home Page.  We will have ongoing expenses to maintain the website.

Also, we talked about inviting some teachers to our reunion.  Traditionally, we don’t charge teachers to attend so Donations will help defray these costs.   Let us know if there are any special teachers you’d like to see, and we’ll try to find them.

Lastly, she has started work on setting up the reunion registration page. This is how classmates will be able to buy reunion tickets online.  Classmates will need to have a profile to receive registration information via the website.  Becky, thank you for all your work to bring us into the digital age. 

Ed Curtis has once again graciously offered to have his design team design a digital invitation. Ed has also offered to create classmate name tags.  

Cathy Harriman has been working on setting up a block of rooms for classmates coming from away. She found the best pricing for the nights of August 9^th and 10^th  at The Bangor Grande Hotel. We will have all the details on the website once Cathy confirms everything with the hotel. 

We also worked on reunion superlative ideas so be prepared to tell us how far you’ve traveled, the number of great grandchildren you have and other interesting facts about your life!

Our next planning meeting is scheduled for 4:30 on Wednesday May 15th at Geaghan’s Pub.  All are welcome.  If you can’t attend, please let us know if you’d like to help us decorate, work on the ‘awards’ or any of the other things that need to be done to make the reunion a success!
